Sawdust on the Floor

I admit it, I goofed. When I wrote a post about the difficulty  involved in working with sheet goods, I forgot one problem. How to move the sheet goods from the store to your shop. No, I am not talking about the vehicle that you use to carry the stuff home in, that’s a totally different subject.  One that you don’t want to get me started on as in the picture to the right of a ‘somewhat’ overloaded vehicle!  What I am talking about is the physical act of carrying the sheet goods into your shop. If your a  6′ 6″ guy with long arms then grabbing both edges of the sheet goods is not really an issue, but for the rest of us its a stretch. ( sorry about the pun). 

Well I think I may have found a solution for that very problem.  The Gorilla Gripper is an ingenious product that allows you to safely and easily move sheet goods, without doing serious damage to your body. To use the sturdy Gorilla Gripper simply place  it over the center of the sheet good, and lift.  The leverage created by the weight of the panel and jaws of the Gorilla Gripper makes it easy for a single person to move a panel. However, if you have a willing helper, the addition of a second Gorilla Gripper can spread the load evenly between both of you.   Works on all sheet goods from 3/8″ to 1 1/8″ thick. 

So now we have solutions for most of the problems related to dealing with sheet goods, The Gorilla Gripper to help you move the stuff home, and the Ezee-Feed system on your saw to help you safely cut the product.

The one problem I can’t offer a suggestion on, is how to get the sheet goods home, But I certainly would not recommend asking the owner of the car above for advice on safely loading your vehicle.
