Woodworking Projects for Kids

It’s that special time of the year.  The baseball season is over, the football season is half over,  daylight saving time has disappeared again, the leaves are nearly off the trees and most importantly, our children and grandchildren are making their lists for Santa.  And we as adults try to find just the perfect gift for those loving children.

While our kids may not have put this request on their lists to the bearded man, how about giving them something really special, your time.  I know that when my grandsons come to visit, they can’t wait to get out to my shop. When I ask them why, the answer is simple.  They want to build something.  It really doesn’t matter to them what it is or how well it turns out, they just want to spend the time out there. Biplane 150x150 Woodworking Projects for Kids

So here is a idea.  How about getting them something they can actually build with you in your shop. The simple Biplane project  shown here is just one of many youth orientated projects that are available for gift giving this year.  Depending on the age of your kids, you may have to supply nothing more then a steady hand and your time.

Who knows that simple project may just be the spark needed to help the next generation get interested in one of our favorite passions, woodworking.
