Woodworking Products – Safety Glasses

This past weekend my young granddaughter came out to my shop inquiring what I was working on. After explaining my latest project she asked if she could help. Those were very welcome words to an old woodworker like me, so of course I let her help. But we soon ran into a major stumbling block when I asked her to put on a pair of safety glasses. Her response,” No way those are ugly”

The safety glasses I offered her were that off the shelf style that you can pick up at any DIY or Hardware store. Functional yes, but to tell the truth they have very little stylish value. Since I didn’t have any others to offer her, and I didn’t want to continue working without her having eye protection, the help very quickly ended.safetyglassesusa 150x81 Woodworking Products Safety Glasses

Now it’s only fair to explain that my granddaughter is of an age where fashion is much more important then almost anything else in life. And having an argument over the safety glasses would not accomplish anything. I want my granddaughter and anyone else who has an interest, to feel welcome in my shop. But not at the risk of theire personal safety.

While it was not of help us in this endeavor, I later found what I think may be a solution. After doing some research online, I found a company that carries safety glasses in almost any style that a person could ever want so tonight we are going to set down and order a pair that fits her individual choice.

Here were my choices, buy safety glasses that she will wear, or ban her from the shop. Man, that was a no brainer, of course I’ll gladly spend the money to have her company in my shop.

So if you are in need of a good pair of safety glasses, or you need a more stylish pair, click on the link to the left or click on the image above to take a look at the many brands and styles available . I know you will find something that you will like. Only one thing, don’t ask me if they look good on you, I thought the plain ones from the DIY store looked good. Guess I should stick to woodworking and let the fashion issues go to those who understand them.
